The Playstation 2 or PS2 is from the sixth generation of video game consoles by Sony. It is successor to the original PlayStation gaming console and like the PS2 belongs to the PlayStation series. Dreamcast by Sega, Xbox 360 by Microsoft and GameCube by Nintendo were its major competitors.

All of the PS2 games on the internet from the year 2003 onwards are guarded by DNAS (Dynamic Network Authentic System). The DNAS is meant to check online frauds including piracy. The system prevents games from being played on the internet in case they are determined to be modified or pirated.
